A fascination with government and politics combined with high energy and strong organizational skills has taken Garret Bonosky far.
In more than seven years as a public affairs professional, Garret has helped pass legislation, support a presidential campaign, stage hundreds of state and local Democratic Party events in an election year, and enable communities to rebound from a massive storm. In his current role at AKB Strategies overseeing client teams and operations, he draws on the insights gained through these experiences.
Garret worked in field operations and project management for the 2016 Hillary Clinton coordinated presidential campaign in Florida. Earlier, he served the Democratic National Committee as the chair’s deputy director during the 2016 election cycle, traveling to 29 states to ensure the success of more than 340 events.
In addition, he has worked for a member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives and for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Federal Affairs Office. On behalf of the governor, Garret tackled legislative issues including helping to solidify $52 billion in Hurricane Sandy federal relief funds. In the legislative arena, Garret helped Critical Mass: The Young Adult Cancer Alliance introduce and pass the bipartisan Deferment for Active Cancer Treatment Act.
